The commission requested was an animated icon that reflected both an orignally designed crown and their main insignia located on the body of the headpiece.
The crown was designed through an iterative process of exploratory sketches where the best and most liked designs were chosen. In the end, combining different aspects of two different designs worked best and became the final vector piece used in the animation.
The animation for this piece was created using Association Collection's existing logo. I created a clean animation-friendly version in Adobe Illustrator and added the style and movement of the eye in After Effects.
My work for Your Vision began with exploration into different logo variations with different 5 sketches, and then a more finalized last sketch to create the vector art from. A combination of digital painting and Illustrator adjustments were used to achieve the more cartoony and varied line style look of the logo.
A first batch of sketches were done for a single emote to establish style and look. Next a single sketch done for each emote using that chosen style to preview the look for all of them together. After confirming with TRClassic, I digitally painted all of the emotes and added outlines to support both dark and light backgrounds for readability.
